First time here and the food was fantastic! I had the salmon which was perfectly cooked, and tasted the pancakes which were the best I've ever had. The brownie a la mode was fantastic! We had a very attentive server who was also just very nice. The vibe inside was laid back and inviting. Again nothing fancy, just a cool spot with very good food.

Bubby's is an American comfort food restaurant that opened in Manhattan, New York in November 1990. It was founded by chef and restaurateur Ron Silver. In his younger years, Silver's focus was not on culinary art but rather visual art. When he needed to find another way to supplement his income in order to sell his art, Silver turned to baking pies. He rented out a kitchen in Tribeca and used it to bake pies for his wholesale pie company. His landlord gave him permission to open to the public for one day only: Thanksgiving Day. Silver set up a few tables and chairs, brewed some coffee, and ended up selling a few hundred pies. Since the landlord was out of town for a few weeks, Silver decided to remain open. Those few weeks ended up becoming 30+ years. The kitchen slowly morphed into the Bubby's that is well-known in Tribeca today. In addition to pies, the restaurant also serves classic breakfast and brunch dishes and comfort food dinner staples. Additional Bubby's locations later opened in Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood as well as Manhattan's Meatpacking District, but both have since closed. In 2022, a secondary location opened at LaGuardia Airport in Queens. My family and I recently had brunch at Bubby's. We were in Tribeca for the fourth annual 'Ghostbusters Day' celebration. After walking around for a while (complete in our best Ghostbuster outfits), we started getting hungry. Bubby's is just a block away from Hook & Ladder 8 (aka Ghostbusters Headquarters), so we decided to stop by. The place was packed and the line was a little long but it moved quickly. We saw some other Ghostbusters eating during our stay. We were very impressed with the menu items, many of which took inspiration from Ashkenazi Jewish comfort food. To drink, my wife ordered the "Mimosa Flight" (lavender, passionfruit, pomegranate, grapefruit) while I had the "Pickle Bloody" (vodka, homemade Bloody Mary mix, pickle brine). Both were excellent brunch cocktails. For food, my wife had the "James Beard Pancakes" (light and fluffy traditional flapjacks) (with mixed berry compote and nutella), I had the "Soft Shell Blue Crab Benedict" (Old Bay béarnaise, sautéed spinach with ramps and garlic) (with side of home fries), and our sons ordered the "Kids Pancakes" (caramelized banana and toasted walnuts). Everything was fantastic and really hit the spot. We were so glad that we stopped at Bubby's and hope to stop again in the future!

The service was amazing! The food was really good but did not blow me away. The ambiance was calm and it wasn't as crowded as it usually is.

I've heard so many great things about this place so I was happy to go on a Saturday morning @10am with no line! The service was awesome off the bat and the food was overall good. We ordered the pancake flight and avocado toast and the portions were big for my friend and I. The pancakes were fresh off the griddle, fluffy, and came with a delicious whipped cream. My favorite was the nutella one and the avocado toast was fine but not memorable. The pancakes don't compare to Golden Diner but still happy I tried it out!

Relatively famous cozy spot in Tribeca with thick, fluffy pancakes, biscuits and cocktails served all day. Their portion sizes are absolutely massive so sharing is a must. Their fried chicken and shish kebabs were delicious. I highly recommend stopping by during off hours or a holiday weekend when everyone leaves the city. Trust me their pancakes taste just as great after 2 PM.

Fast paced but amazing food, excellent server and drinks. Will be back and love the bar and decorations. Great job!!

Always a great experience at Bubby's! We stopped for pie, coffee and drinks after dinner, and everything was fantastic. Fresh pies, great bar, friendly service and convenient Tribeca location with seating indoors and out. Everything you want in comfort food in lower Manhattan

I came here to try the pancakes and unfortunately, they did not live up to the hype. They were so average and did not even COMPARE to clinton street baking company pancakes, which actually blew me away. Came here at a 10AM on a Sunday and was seated right away. Pro-tip: outdoor seating is dog friendly! The service was really fast; got to try these 3 plates and drink: - Green juice (5/5): despite being so expensive, it was actually really good. Super refreshing, a bit sweet, felt really clean. - James Beard Pancakes (2/5): I did not like these at all. They were so dense, the compote was so sugary, and the batter was so thick. Felt like I was eating a cake and I wish the edges had some crisp too. Would not really recommend these to be honest. - Sourdough Pancakes (4/5): These were actually really solid. They were thinner, had more of a chew and natural flavor to the pancake. If I were to get any pancake, it would be the sourdough ones. - Overstuffed Green Omelet (4.5/5): Nothing special and a bit bland (needed hot sauce), but the egg was cooked really nicely and I loved that it was stuffed to the brim with vegetables -- had a great diversity in texture. Salad could have used a bit more of the vinegary sauce; I barely tasted any of it and it felt like I was eating raw leaves. Glad I tried it, but wouldn't come back. Head over to clinton street for the best pancakes in the city, without a doubt.

I got the crab cake benedict and it was so good. I got it with a side salad but you can also choose fries instead. A huge portion that's really filling. The crab was crispy on the outside, but soft and flavorful on the inside. The bread was nicely toasted and the poached eggs were nice and runny. One of the best breakfasts I've had in the city. I got a hibiscus iced tea that was refreshing and unsweetened. They have outdoor and indoor seating. We came around 10 am on a weekend and the wait wasn't too long, but by the time we were seated, the line was a decent length. The servers were really nice and we didn't have to wait too long to get served.
